Excel to PDF, with your spreadsheets kept in the EU

Turn .xlsx workbooks or OpenDocument .ods sheets into a PDF that is ready to send or file. LibreOffice does the conversion on our own European server, with no external APIs involved.

Spreadsheets are often the most sensitive files an organisation holds: payroll, customer lists, patient tables, census extracts or budgets full of names and ID numbers. When one has to go to an outside party or into a case file, PDF is the usual choice because it freezes the content and opens anywhere without needing Excel.

The risk sits in the conversion step. Uploading a staff list to a random converter means handing personal data to a provider you may know nothing about. In Anonimatum, LibreOffice runs the conversion on our own EU server, with no external APIs, and the file is not kept: it is processed, returned and the temporary folder is removed.

That lets you finish the whole job in one place. Convert the workbook or .ods sheet to PDF and, if it is leaving your organisation, anonymize or pseudonymize it straight after. All on a Politeia Soft platform certified under Spain's ENS (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad) at MEDIUM level and designed for the GDPR.

    Open "Excel to PDF"

Sign in at app.anonimatum.com and go to the PDF Tools menu.

  2. 2

    Upload the sheet

    Download the PDF

The PDF comes back straight away and the conversion's temporary folder is deleted when it finishes.

Security

Your PDFs never leave our servers in the EU

The same safeguards as the anonymizer, also for merging, converting or compressing.

  • Our own servers in the EU

Every tool runs on Anonimatum servers in France and Poland (OVHcloud). No third-party services or APIs: LibreOffice and OCR run on our own server.

  • We don’t keep the document

The PDF is processed in memory and returned straight away. Conversions use a temporary folder that is deleted when they finish.

  • History under your control

Group activity (operation and file name) is deleted according to the retention your administrator sets, from 1 to 365 days. The audit log only keeps the SHA-256 fingerprint.

  • Access with your account

You sign in with your Anonimatum account, with two-step verification, and each use is deducted from your plan’s PDF tools quota.

  • ENS Medium category

Politeia Soft is certified under Spain’s National Security Framework (ENS), Medium category, and the platform is designed for the GDPR.

  • Next to the anonymizer

Merge, reorder or convert, then anonymize or pseudonymize the result on the same platform before sharing it.

Excel to PDF: frequently asked questions

Which spreadsheet formats are supported?

Excel files in .xlsx format and OpenDocument spreadsheets in .ods format. The output is always a PDF.

Where is my spreadsheet converted?

On Anonimatum's own servers in the EU (OVHcloud, France and Poland), using LibreOffice installed on our server. It is not sent to third-party services or external APIs.

Do you keep a copy of the spreadsheet or the PDF?

No. The file is processed and returned immediately, and the conversion's temporary folder is deleted when it finishes. The group history records only the operation and the file name, and the audit log keeps just the SHA-256 fingerprint.

Do I need an account? Does it count towards my plan?

Yes. The tool lives inside the Anonimatum App, requires an account (two-step verification available) and each conversion uses your plan's PDF tools allowance.

Can I anonymize the PDF afterwards?

Yes. Once converted, you can run the PDF through the anonymizer to hide or pseudonymize personal data without switching platforms.
