Add page numbers to your PDFs
Number every page in the position and format you choose, so anyone can point to "page 14" without confusion. Processed on our European servers, with the document never stored.
An unnumbered document is hard to cite. In a claim, an administrative file or an audit report, everyone involved needs to refer to "folio 32" or "page 8 of annex III" without ambiguity. Numbering the pages of a PDF before you file or send it saves clarification emails and avoids mistakes when reviewing long bundles.
The documents that get numbered most are often the most sensitive ones too: court filings, medical records, personnel files and inspection reports full of names, diagnoses and identifiers. That is why Anonimatum applies page numbers on our EU servers, without going through third-party services, and returns the PDF immediately without keeping a copy.
This tool belongs at the end of document preparation. Merge the separate PDFs, reorder or remove stray pages and, once the bundle is final, add numbers in the position and format you prefer. If the file is leaving your organisation, anonymize it next: page references will still line up in the redacted version.

The paginated document comes back straight away and is not kept on the server.
Security
Your PDFs never leave our servers in the EU
The same safeguards as the anonymizer, also for merging, converting or compressing.
Our own servers in the EU
Every tool runs on Anonimatum servers in France and Poland (OVHcloud). No third-party services or APIs: LibreOffice and OCR run on our own server.
We don’t keep the document
The PDF is processed in memory and returned straight away. Conversions use a temporary folder that is deleted when they finish.
History under your control
Group activity (operation and file name) is deleted according to the retention your administrator sets, from 1 to 365 days. The audit log only keeps the SHA-256 fingerprint.
Access with your account
You sign in with your Anonimatum account, with two-step verification, and each use is deducted from your plan’s PDF tools quota.
ENS Medium category
Politeia Soft is certified under Spain’s National Security Framework (ENS), Medium category, and the platform is designed for the GDPR.
Next to the anonymizer
Merge, reorder or convert, then anonymize or pseudonymize the result on the same platform before sharing it.

Page numbering: frequently asked questions
Can I choose where the number appears?
Yes. You choose the position of the numbers on the page and the format they are shown in.
Should I number before or after merging?
After. If you are combining several documents, merge and reorder them first so the numbering runs continuously through the whole file.
Where is my PDF processed?
On Anonimatum's own servers in the EU (OVHcloud, France and Poland), without being sent to third-party services. The file is processed in memory, returned immediately and not stored.
Do I need an account? Does it use my allowance?
Yes. The tool is part of the Anonimatum App, requires an account (two-step verification available) and each use counts towards your plan's PDF tools allowance.
Can I anonymize the numbered document?
Yes. Number first, then anonymize or pseudonymize the PDF on the same platform, so page references still work in the anonymized version.
