PDF to JPG or PNG, page by page

Turn the pages of your PDFs into JPG or PNG images on Anonimatum's own EU servers, without going through third-party services.

Plenty of places take an image but not a PDF: the slide where you want to show one page of a report, an intranet news item quoting a decision, a ticketing tool that only accepts screenshots, or a thumbnail in a catalogue. PDF to JPG/PNG converts the pages of your document into JPG or PNG images, so you can use them wherever a PDF will not fit.

An image is not the same as an anonymous file. An ID card, an invoice or a medical note reads just as clearly in JPG as in PDF, and images get forwarded and copied even more casually. That is why it pays to know where the conversion happens. With Anonimatum it runs on our own EU servers, without third-party services, and the document is not kept.

When a page contains personal data that must stay in-house, the sensible order is anonymize first, convert second, without switching platforms: the tool lives in the PDF tools menu of the same App you use to anonymize or pseudonymize. Activity is recorded in the group history under the retention set by your administrator, and the audit log stores only a SHA-256 fingerprint, never the content itself.

How to convert a PDF to JPG or PNG

  1. 1

    Choose PDF to JPG/PNG

Sign in to the Anonimatum App and open the tool from the PDF tools menu.

  2. 2

    Upload and pick a format

Choose JPG or PNG for the pages; the conversion runs on our EU servers.

  3. 3

    Download the images

Your converted pages come back straight away, and the conversion's temporary folder is deleted when it finishes.

Security

Your PDFs never leave our servers in the EU

The same safeguards as the anonymizer, also for merging, converting or compressing.

  • Our own servers in the EU

Every tool runs on Anonimatum servers in France and Poland (OVHcloud). No third-party services or APIs: LibreOffice and OCR run on our own server.

  • We don’t keep the document

The PDF is processed in memory and returned straight away. Conversions use a temporary folder that is deleted when they finish.

  • History under your control

Group activity (operation and file name) is deleted according to the retention your administrator sets, from 1 to 365 days. The audit log only keeps the SHA-256 fingerprint.

  • Access with your account

You sign in with your Anonimatum account, with two-step verification, and each use is deducted from your plan’s PDF tools quota.

  • ENS Medium category

Politeia Soft is certified under Spain’s National Security Framework (ENS), Medium category, and the platform is designed for the GDPR.

  • Next to the anonymizer

Merge, reorder or convert, then anonymize or pseudonymize the result on the same platform before sharing it.

PDF to JPG/PNG: frequently asked questions

Should I choose JPG or PNG?

As a rule of thumb, JPG is smaller and works well for photos and scans, while PNG keeps text, tables and charts sharper. The tool lets you pick either.

Does converting to an image hide personal data?

No. The image shows exactly what the page shows, and the text remains readable. If some details must not leave your organization, anonymize the PDF first on the same platform, then convert it.

Where is my PDF converted?

On Anonimatum's own EU servers (OVHcloud, France and Poland), with no third-party services. The document is not stored; the group history logs the operation and file name, and the audit log keeps only a SHA-256 fingerprint.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You need an Anonimatum account, with two-step verification available, and each conversion counts towards your plan's PDF tools quota.

Can I turn the images back into a PDF?

Yes, with Images to PDF, also in the PDF tools menu.
